Ok so my betta has damaged fins. So i bought him aquariam salt and melafix. Then i found out that it covers his gland. So i'm going to return the product today and last night i cleaned out 30% of his water, cleaned the walls picked up dirt from the gravel with a vacuum and i took out the dying live plant. But during that time i decided to take him out so he would be stressed with me sticking my hands and him running away from the gravel and the algae pad. So i put him in a cup in my room in a still place in the dark so he wouldn't stress. After i finished cleaning his tank i went to get him but he must of jumped out of his cup and was found on my carpet floor. I don't know how long he was there but i spent 10min cleaning his tank he was flopping around and i picked him up and put him back in the cup and waited a while for me to clean the live plant. Iput a cover over the cup so he wouldnt jump out again. Turns out this morning when i went to feed him his whole mouth part from his eyes down is white. his gills are tucked in really tight and i don't know what it is. Is he going to die?

A symptom of disease is white, cotton like stuff budding on your ailing Betta fish. This symptom of Betta fish disease is for fungal contamination. Fungus, as well as fin rot, tends to be cured with the similar type of medications. Fin rot and mouth rot can be observed by black, red or white edges to the fins of your Betta fish, and a perceptible shrinking of fin size. Fin rot, if not cured, can turn into complex fin rot, and take the life of your Betta fish he wont die just give him medication and he will be alright

i cant tell you if hes going to die or not but if he lives, don't take him out of the tank when you clean it. that stresses him more. just do a small partial water change each week and siphon the junk from the gravel. you shouldn't be cleaning everything in the tank at once anyway as this would kill all the good bacteria that lives in the gravel, decor and filter media. this good bacteria is what keeps your tank cycled and killing all would mean your tank is no longer cycled.

i had a betta once with fin rot and i used bettafix. i used it as directed and it worked like a charm
