hi 1st time and babies are coming soon! i must get a filter. please help me find one! Someone who knows what filter is good and safe for the baby bettas that are going to hatch soon!

I am also a novice betta breeder. I have many expert breeders advising me to get a small internal filter or a external one that doesn't put out a strong current, then get a piece of sponge filter to wrap around the part of the filter that sucks in the water. That way the babies don't get sucked through.

A Sponge Filter.
That's what I use for my Angelfish fry...so I know it's safe and won't suck up any babies.
You just need the Sponge filter and an Air pump. It'll probably only cost you about $20 - $25 depending on where you get it from..my Filter only cost $10 and you can get a cheap air pump for around the same or less I'm guessing.

Best of Luck with the fry! :]

Babies or any other betta fish don't need a filter. Mine is in a bowl with a light attached.
