beta fish tank question?

i have a 2.5 gallon fish tank for my beta ... it has a glass lid .. there are 2 holes in the lid but they are very small like very small is that enof air getting to the water and fish or should i leave the tank lid of ........ the 2 holes in the glass lid are about the size of the point of a ball point pen there is 2 of them plz answer thank you sooo much
