If your platy just wont swim "up" bring the food to him.
Have your regular betta food and feed your betta then as your betta is eating drop some small sinking granules over your platy. They will sink and your platy will be abel to eat whats around him.

Or you could just remove the betta and get some more platies
that would be another solution

I have a nice big tank I just set up and when I moved my Beta into the larger tank, I decided to add another fish. I bought a little platy after doing much research on compatable fish. well the beta and the platy seem to be getting along just fine...except when it comes to food. My platy just sits under a rock as the beta devours all the fish flakes. I can't figure out if the platy just doesn't realize it's food or if he's scared to swim up there with my beta. Also, is it normal for the platy to swim up to the edge of the glass and dart forward towards the glass (it looks like he's trying desperately to swim straight through the aquarium wall even though the beta is probably just sitting around on the other end of the tank). I put all the beta's old decor on one end of the tank so "his Territory" is on the other tank from the platy. How do I get my platy to eat!?
