Does anyone have any particular faves as we approach the festive period???

I like that 1946 classic 'Its's a wonderful life'.

I also enjoy the re runs of carry on films that the beeb often put on late at night...

I agree with others on here - The Muppet's Christmas Carol is easily the best Christmas film. Even as someone who doesn't like Christmas, it's hard not to be taken in by it's festive charm.

I'd give a worthy second place to Home Alone. Not quite as festive, but a perfect family film for the Christmas period.

You've missed the most obvious christmas classics, even if they did kinda lose their way by the third installment...

The Santa Clause (Tim Allen)

absolutely hillarious, and very cleverly written.
This year, Fred Claus with Vince Vaughn is one of the funniest films out over the holiday season.. its got alot of dry humor in as well as things the kiRAB can enjoy.

I'd link to my review but we're not allowed to promote on here :D

For me, I think the whole essence of being a child at Christmas is best summed up with The Polar Express.
I only saw it for the first time last year and shall probably watch it every Christmas.
It really struck a chord with me.:)

I gotta admit that Billy Bob was great in that movie, loved that line at the end where he makes a witty remark about his liver, pure class :D

Other great xmas movies

Gremlins ( The 1st 1)

Home Alone 1

Jingle all the way

Casper ( Yeh yeh I l know it ain't an xmas flick but it's only shown on tv then)

The Santa Clause ( You know that Tim Allen flick)

Then there is the flicks that you need a beer or summin a lot stronger to sit thru like.

The Snowman (we are yawning in the air)
It's a wonderful life (esp when the ending credits come up)
Mary friggin poppins
The Sound Of My ar*e aka The Sound of music
Great Escape (Excellent Tune crap film)
Any Muppets or Winnie the turd xmas specials

There are prob loaRAB more good & very bad xmas flicks but i'm off 2 bed :D
