My 1992 Escort 1.9L barely cranks intermittently. I have replaced Sparkplug Cables as I found one reading intermittently shown open. I have ohm checked the Ignition Coil and it checked out fine. However, I'm thinking it could be the Ignition Control Module (EDIS). I have taken it out and inspected it for corrosion but I have no way to test it. I have also discounted the Ignition switch as I have also tested it .
The Starter & Solenoid would be next in line. I'm reluctant to think it is the Stater. I have taped on it with a hammer + Solenoid, no positive results, unable to check with VOM without taken it out and that seems like a bare of a job. I've read on this site where some have replaced the Starter & Solennoid and still have the same problem? Can some kind, mechanically, talent person point me in the right direction to resolve this aggravating problem?
I here sincerely thank you in advance.
