Best way to test the ignition module on a 1992 Ford Escort 1.9L?

My 1992 Escort 1.9L barely cranks intermittently. I have replaced Sparkplug Cables as I found one reading intermittently shown open. I have ohm checked the Ignition Coil and it checked out fine. However, I'm thinking it could be the Ignition Control Module (EDIS). I have taken it out and inspected it for corrosion but I have no way to test it. I have also discounted the Ignition switch as I have also tested it .

The Starter & Solenoid would be next in line. I'm reluctant to think it is the Stater. I have taped on it with a hammer + Solenoid, no positive results, unable to check with VOM without taken it out and that seems like a bare of a job. I've read on this site where some have replaced the Starter & Solennoid and still have the same problem? Can some kind, mechanically, talent person point me in the right direction to resolve this aggravating problem?

I here sincerely thank you in advance.

Take it out and take it to your parts House. call a round first and find one that will check it for free like auto zone, checker, and ask if the in house person that knows how to use the tester is there.// the module will not have a impact on the cranking of the engine! check your cables and grounds. a lose ground will do what you said is taking place so will a bad ign. switch
