We are in need of making or building a railing to go along our outdoor brick steps on the side of our house. It's 3 steps down, and the brick is too brittle to drill into. There's dirt right next to the steps and we're trying to figure out how to post it and make it sturdy enough for elder people who are quite wobbily on their feet. We were thinking of digging into the dirt and cementing in posts, but they have to start a good 5 feet tall on the top step to be at arms length, will the post be sturdy enough? Any thoughts or products out there anyone has used? thanks!
