Best war film ever

Very surprised "Enemy at the Gates" only gets one mention

Here's mine

Saving private ryan
Appocolypse now
Platoon
The Pianist
Schindlers list
Enemy at the gates
Children of men (for the best war footage ever)
The Great Escape (1963)
The Deer Hunter
Black Hawk Down
Tears of the sun

Sure there's more, not got my thinking head on!

Agreed.

And Schindler's list.

And Muirfield, you are right. WWII did stop the gassing of the Jews, but I still don't understand the whole war mentality. (but that's another discussion entirely)

The peter falk one, I think with Burt Lancaster is called The Keep or Castle Keep.

Very good film.

MY TOP 7:

Cross of Iron
Stalingrad
Das Boot
Gettysburg
Glory
The Great Escape
Bridge Too Far

(Just outside: Come and See, Winter War, Platoon, Saving Pvt. Ryan, we were soldiers, the crossing, ran)

(downfall, schindlers list are good films but don't quite qualify to me as war films)

That's the one - Castle Keep. I just looked it up on imdb. I saw it a very long time ago and all I can remember is that it was very very good and that the Peter Falk character wanted to marry a baker.
AND I just found out it's available on Amazon for

In no order:

Donnie Darko
Beetlejuice
Nightmare before Christmas
Truman Show
Forrest Gump

:o Woops - I didn't read the title properly, these are my favourite films notwar films lol :o
