I'm new to this forum. Did a search but couldn't find a thread that specifically deals with my question:
MY QUESTION: Which Cingular or Verizon cell phone has the best voice recognition?
Currently, I have a Motorola V551 with Cingular. It has terrible voice recognition. I say a name it often fails to find it or just calls another name that doen't even sound close.
Because I live in a somewhat rural area (Santa Cruz, CA) I need to go with either Cingular or Verizon to get the best coverage areas.
I really don't care about the other phone features - camera, video, and that type of thing. However, I do want blue tooth support so that I can do handsfree calling.
My initial impression is that phones that don't require "training" for voice recognition actually do better than the ones that do. I think because the "training" takes place in a quiet environment and the actual call takes place in a noisey environment - like a car. That's my IMPRESSION, but I'm not sure if it's true.
I'd appreciate your help on finding a good voice recognition phone. The V551 is very frustrating in this regard.
Thanks,
- Simon
