Best Villian in film or tv

Seeing as i saw a thread about the best superhero ever i thought i may start one about the best villain ever. I know this has most likely been done before but i thought i mite start my own. Anyway the villain can be from anything comic book, action or maybe a Disney film. Or possibly from a tv show like heroes or Dexter. My favorite has to be The Joker i think he is amazing just the way he is truly psychotic is brilliant.

What do you think??
 
Agreed. Particularly Heath Ledger's Joker.
Voldermort is definiately a legend of villain.
I wouldn't say she was the best, but I loved Teri Hatcher voicing the 'Other Mother' in Coraline.

But yeah, The Joker is the ultimate villain.
 
Agree with Ledger's Joker being one of the best if not the best, others I always liked were Clarrence Bodicker from Robocop and Hans Gruber from Die Hard and of course Darth Vader.

From TV it is more difficult because the majority of TV shows dont use the same villains throughout. Colnel Decker from The A-Team would rank highly as would Weyoun in RAB9.
 
Is it fair to say Clarence Bodicker was the villain in Robocop? He was just a paid thug. The real villain was Dick Jones. It's like saying Jaws was the villain in The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker when it was actually Stromberg and Drax respectively.
 
i would say dexter just the way he doesnt feel and the character is brilliantly portrayed by Michael C Hall but im not sure if you would call him a villain. Mr Blonde i suppose is a villain in resevoir dogs and the torture scene with 'stuck in the middle of you' in the background is amazing.
