Im a junior in high school from CT. Im in the top ten percent in my class rank and my gpa is between 3.5-3.75. I take all honor classes. This year I am taking AP Chem, and next year I plan to take AP Bio and possibly Physics. I am in many after school clubs and I been playing football (starting varsity now) all my high school career and play basketball this year and next. I'm taking my SATs for the first time in March, and am targeting a 2000 score.
My career goal to somewhere in the medical field, just don't know what yet. It's far down the road for me right now.
But as for right now, Im looking to apply to college somewhere near home, specifically good colleges in MA, CT, NY, and PA.
Ive been doing all sorts of research online, looking for top undergraduate schools that have the best pre-med programs, prestigious schools, cost, rankings, etc.
But what I cant really get at is what is the best undergrad school that has very good acceptance rate of premed students getting into med school, the matriculation rate or something...make sense where I'm headed at?
Here are the colleges that are on my list so far (no specific order):
-Amherst C
-Columbia U
-Cornell U
-New York U
-Northeastern U
-Penn State U Park
-Tufts U
-U Connecticut
-Yale U

Other ivy schools aren't there, because I know that my chances of getting into them are not that great.
I know that the "best" ranked schools aren't the best schools for me, with lifestyle, environment, yada yada...

Being from CT, and wanting to stay as close to home, UConn is #1 my list. Both of my sisters have graduated from there, and I love its environment (and the cost!). But does it have a good reputation for getting me into a good med school? Or is it better to go elsewhere, a more prestigious school?

That being my MAIN question, here are my other questions:
-What other colleges can I add to my list that I forgot?
- From my list, how would you rank these colleges for me?
-- What is a good major to major in? (I've heard bio-related majors aren't the best and easiest)

Thank you to anyone who can provide helping information to me.
