Best truce or enemies unite episodes

One cliche in many series, is to have characters that normally enemies forced to put aside their differences and unite against a common cause or enemies.

I think it can be great if written correctly, or terrible. It also depends on the characters in question, you might agree with me or not, but I didn't like when Slade made a truce with the Teen Titans to take down Trigon at the end of the season 4 in The End, Slade a good guy even for a day, it just doesn't seem right to me.

I thought Ben 10 Grudge Match was a good episode, I thought it was fun and interesting, more than Ben 10: Alien Force Alone Together, which was more predictable and was very cliche. Even though the end result in that episode was important to the plot.

I also liked Avatar: The Last Airbender The Blue Spirit, that one had great action and showcased a great villain, even though the surprise was so obvious.

But my favorite right now, is Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion The Black Knights, that is argeueably the best episode of the series. My personal favorite, not only for the formal introduction to the world of the Black Knights, but to see all of the characters on the same side and realising that as different as people can be, they too can have the same feelings. The show typical likes to show how heartless people, especially the main and secondary main character can be at times, but this time, show how good people can be. I loved the twist of the cliche of the enemies unite for a common purpose episode, normally it is for survival, or save the entire world, which includes the characters obviously, because if the world is destroyed, they will be dead also. But here, none of the characters that put aside their differences to save the day, were in any personal danger, it was to save people they cared about, as well as innocent people they didn't know.

I thought Slade teaming up with the Titans against Trigon worked. I mean, Trigon did pretty much screw him over, and Slade had nothing else to lose. I mean, he was literally a walking corpse. And it's not like he'd never fight the Titans again, despite never showing up on the show after that. At some point, Deathstroke will cross swords with the Titans again.

Maybe you are right. I am probably thinking with my heart, because Slade is one of my favorite villains ever. It is hard to see your favorite villains stope to the level of teaming up with heros.

"Game Over For Owlman!" - Batman: Brave & The Bold

An absolutely perfect contrast between some of the biggest enemies in animation, The Joker and Batman. This episode was packed with great humor, plot, and it stayed true to classic DC.

The Halloween episode of Invader ZIM where Zim and Dib are forced to work together. In general the episode itself is one of my all time favorites, not only because I love Halloween, but the episode had some GREAT creature/monster designs. (And a Nny cameo... but as 'Nightmare Nny', anyway.)

There's also the Bolognius Maximus episode, where they have to find a cure for the bolognification.
"Mortal enemies working together for the common good!"

No love for the He-Man episodes Evilseed & To Save Skeletor? The first one had Skeletor help He-Man save Eternia from the titular guest villain. The latter had He-Man & co teaming up with Skeletor and his minions to stop an evil creature Skeletor summoned called Sh'Gora. Both are fan favorites and ended up on the best of He-Man DVD.

Come to think of it, every 80s cartoon had a hero/villain team-up. Transformers G1 had quite a few, GI Joe did a couple, and so did Ducktales.

I prefer when the truce has meaning behind it; lasting character development, or plot development that sprouts out of it. All the various team-ups in WITCH did it, and I thought it was amazing. The Guardians and Phobos, The Guardians and the Knights, even the Guardians and Nerissa. They sided with every villain on the show at one point, and each of those times were important and complimented the other team-ups before it.

I totally agree with you. Not only was that a great way to have Batman team up with the Joker, his most well-known enemy, but it was so hilarious as well. When I first saw the ending with Joker saying how if they weren't who they were, they could have been friends, I almost felt really sad since it sounded true. That's definitely my favorite enemies unite episode.

It's been years since I saw the episode of the 80's G.I. Joe episode where Dial Tone and Zaranna (Zartan's sister) teamed up/fell for each other, but it had lasting repurcussions and was brought up later on in the episode where several Joes were aged/de-aged- until Zaranna helped a now 10 year old Dial Tone find the cure.

I think G1 Transformers had a few TOO many. I mean, there was Countdown to Extinction, Revenge of Bruticus, The Core, The Killing Jar, Return of Optimus Prime, and im sure there might have been another one.

The Tale Spin episode "Stuck on You" had Baloo and Don Karnage literally stuck together, and Karnage promised on his honor not to do anything to Baloo while they were stuck, and at the end he made due by protecting him from Mad Dog, Dumptruck, and Gibber (the guy who always whispers to Karnage) at the glue factory after they got separated. Also, Baloo promised not to turn him in for a huge reward that was being offered.

I'm pretty sure that was Mainframe, not Dial Tone.

I'm really surprised the first thing mentioned in this thread wasn't the Justice League Unlimited series finale where Lex Luthor and the Secret Society team up with the Justice League against Darkseid and his invasion of Earth.

Gargoyles:

1. City Of Stone Part 2-4: Xanatos proposes an alliance with the Gargoyles to reverse Demona's Stone By Night Spell. In the end, Xanatos mentions how useful Goliath and his clan are, hence why he's allowed them to live.

2. Walkabout: Goliath, Elisa, Angela and Bronx have to work with Dingo to stop the Matrix from altering the entire world. A main factor which gets Dingo interested in becoming a real hero.

Megas XLR:

"Rearview Mirror Mirror part 1 and 2" Where Coop and Gorrath are sent into an alt. future where Coop is evil, both Coop and Gorrath have to team up to escape the alt. future and defeat Evil Coop and his army.

The battle between Megas and the Glorft vs. Evil Coop was the best scene from the show and kinda like the best finally of it.

Street Fighter: I always rather liked Guile and M. Bison reluctantly joining forces to battle Akuma. They still traded barbs, and there were a few moments when both were questioning whether to save the other in danger, but they put aside their differences to combat a bigger foe. And the ending was sweet, with Guile letting Bison get away this time, and Bison preventing Sagat (I think) from shooting Guile.

The Total Drama Island episode "Are We There Yeti?" included Gwen and Heather teaming up, although they really dispise one another.

They actually worked together very well, disturbingly.

The series finale of Justice League: Unlimited featured Lex Luther and the Legion teaming with the Justice League to take on Darkseid. There was a WAY cool scene when Lex offered Batman a gun and Batman refused.

It had a great ending, too. The Justice League offered all the villains a 30-second head start.
