Best to get a car or a bike?

I am 16 and have a 50cc moped, completed my CBT and am comfortable with changing gears etc on my bike. When I turn 17 I am aware I can take my test, and ride any size motorbike as long as it is restricted to 33bhp.

Would it be better to get a car or a bike? I would get both eventually, but which one first? I was thinking of getting a bike first, but then friends at college have cars and we go places, which made me change my mind, and then when I ride my bike I really want to get a bigger one!!

So, in your opinion, which would be better for me in regards to road tax, insurance, and fuel economy. The bike would be better I'm thinking, but I really can't make my damn mind up.
 
Bike hands down,

1 its quicker, you don't get stuck in traffic as you know already.

2 Women will find you and your bigger bike more interesting then chav in nova or similar

3 tax is cheaper than a car

4 mpg is miles better than any car

5. you can remove the restrictor as soon as you get it...ssssh
 
I would get a car. My cousin got seriously hurt on a bike.
Plus the gas prices are really cheap right now.
 
well thro im a bike rider you cant always drive the bike so best get a car then a bike later unless you live where it dont rain or get cold if thats the case get the bike
 
bike is better for cost and economy but then of course not so good in bad weather can't carry your pals and of course you're more vulnerable depends how far you plan to go on it. choice is yours really.
 
At the end of the day what would you like.
Convenience or fun?

I would choose the car since I will be able to get from A to B on rainy days without have to wear wet weather gears and I will be able to transport larger things.

Then I would go for the bike later.
 
I think it really depends on your climate and the distance you travel. Expense-wise and parking, I would go with the bike. But if you have to travel any distance or have to worry about rain and snow, go with a small used truck. Everyone always needs a truck, maybe you could even have a little business to pay for gas by helping people move.

If you pick the bike, please be careful because people don't watch where they are driving.
 
The bike is the best bet economywise. If you can get a ride in your mates' cars why bother with your own.
