Looking for the Best wet / dry handling tires. Getting High Mileage from them is not my 1st concern. Choosing from: Avon Storm ST, Michelin Pilot Road 2CT, Metzeler Roadtec Z6 Anything else worth looking at?
By the way, I should explain. A Ducati or any other High-Performance Italian Motorcycle, will not use the same tires that are used on Harley's. As Harley's are street cruiser or long distance touring bikes, they have practically no lean angle. You can't lean a Harley over very far in turns without hitting floorboards or pipes.. That's not what Harley's are made for. Thus, ME880's are designed for Harley's and are flatter on top. Tires for Sport Bikes, have a rounded top profile, allowing the bike to lean fully into the turn. Thereby the tire is running on it's sidewall as the bike leans all the way over going fast through turns. A Sport Bike, even a Sport Touring rider can lean in on a turn and get their inside knee out and down for balance. Watch a Moto GP or World Superbike Race and you'll see the kind of turning these bikes can do, almost lying them on their side, the riders knee is used to drag on the ground as sort of an outrigger, 3rd point of contact.
