Best sequence/s in a film ever!

A couple of personal favorites:

Withnail and I: I in the bath, Withnail talking. Puts his chips down the toilet and comments ' The only me and you have in common is that ****ing bath!'

Kill Bill: The scene at the beginning of both volumes. 'Do you find me sadistic?'. David Caradine's voice so perfect for those lines, and sets up both films amazingly.

The Birdcage: Any scene with Hank Azaria, in particular 'There is no point in me wearing the shoes, they make me fall over' - then proceeding to go arse over tit, several times - and bloody funny each time.

Adaptation - With the cute redhead from the diner. Makes me cringe every time, but pefect timing!

It would be even greater/more significant if you did. Its so astoudning when Jim cries and Frank touches his eye..... BEST bit.

However, I love ALL of LOTR, but esp. the lighting of the beacons and when sam carries frodo up the hill.

In Moulin Rouge I love the climactic song numbers... like when the heart behind Satine and Chrisitian explodes etc etc

The two key sequences in Don't Look Now, one near the beginning of the film, the other near the end. I don't want to give away what happens, all I will say is that they are both sensational pieces of filmmaking. :)

Its ACE!!! I really grows on you too.

I dont know if I've mentioned this but I love the final dance sequence in Chicago. Could have been bigger and better, but its still cool.

Have to completely agree with you on the Disney thing, lets not forget Little Mermaid when Triton turns Ariel back into a human, Dumbo when he goes to see his mum in prison and she swings him in her trunk while that really sad song plays...makes me blub every time!

Also love the end dance in Dirty Dancing and the bit in Jaws when the little boy dies, I mean kiRAB don't die in films generally so the shock factor is pretty cool, especially with the shot of Brody when he sees it happen.

Oh yes....a fabulous scene. The music during this scene is especially tension-building...can anyone help with the name of the track please? I seem to remember it doesn't appear on the soundtrack CD. Real heart-in-the-mouth music, perfectly matched to the film.

Other than some already mentioned (T2, Saving Private Ryan, etc) :

The Dam Busters - The attacks on the dams.
The Dawn Of The Dead (2004) - Little girl through to the car crash.
Predator - Arnie taking on the Predator single handedly.
The Italian Job - Lamborghini Muira drive up the mountain to Matt Monroe.
Bullitt - Charger / Mustang chase.
Gone In 60 SeconRAB (original) - End car chase.
Ronin - Paris car chase.
The Hidden - Ferrari 308 car chase.

Very good review, but I don't agree that the film flagged at the end - I loved the ending.
I think some people maybe have a problem with Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. being a bit OTT as actors, but I thought RW was great for this part.
If I was to pick one sequence from the film it would probably be the house in hell - such a terrible contrast to the beautiful place he'd travelled from

Talking of car chaces ---
The last race in The Fast and the Furious with the dragster
The car chase in What's Up Doc
The car chase over the flyover in Freebie and the Bean when the cop car crashes through the wall of an apartment block into the old couple's bedroom, and Freebie orders a tow truck to the address... "...second floor :o"
The car chase under the elevated railway in French Connection
The whole mini chase in The Italian Job (original) - especially the bit where the guy grabs a chicken leg off the restaurant table (IIRC)
The motorcycle/horse chase in True Lies

Aww, dont even start me on the disney thing! Another one is in Alladin when the genie becomes free from the lamp. Also in Herucles when he is in the underworld and becomes a god in front of Hades. Then there is also the bit in Mulan where she climbs up that huge pole that no one else can get up and she reaches the top and everyone cheers. What great moments.
