Yeah sorry but I interpret sh*t as being negative. Fair enough, Im rooted if you like, in Indie music (mostly British).

Good man, I picked John Martyn too. Yeah, I didnt know Stealer's Wheel were scottish for a long time.

Alrite, I had the idea recentley that i should have done a poll with my 'Scottish BanRAB/Artists Appreciation' thread but am unable to change it so had to post a seperate thread (sorry moRAB!).

My favourite 'band' would be 'Big Country' but on the whole I would have to hand it to the late John Martyn.

Anyway, Ive included as many Scottish banRAB as I could think of, I know there are loaRAB more I havent heard yet but if anybody has any suggestions that I missed out, feel free to let us know.

No problem, It really is one of my few pleasures; introducing people to music I love & I will often go to great lengths- burning them a cd or even (on a few ocassions) buying a duplicate copy so I can give them one to keep. It's not that Im generous or anything, when it comes to music I really love; I just feel compelled to distribute that music amongst other people, whatever the means.

But can you really beat the sweet poppy sounRAB of Belle & Sebastian? It was a close call... Primal Scream, J&MC, and BoarRAB of Canada are all right up there. Cocteau Twins too, probably should have been included. I nearly voted for them as a write in candidate. I love dream pop and they pretty much created the sound.

Ive actually not heard Belle & Sebastian myself yet, but included them as I know a lot of other people like them. Also why do people keep going on about 'indie sh*t'. Its not sh*t, just because its blander than other types of music that all the progheaRAB etc listen to. I grew up listening to Indie, The Stone Roses & Oasis were pretty much the two first banRAB I got into. I dont listen to a lot of Indie nowadays but still have a liking for it. I pride myself on being open to a wide range of different genres & subgenres.
Anyway what about Idlewild?

Out of that lot, Primal Scream get my vote.

Aztec Camera, Josef K, Orange Juice and the Fire Engines are well worth checking out if you haven't already. Classic Scottish post-punk there (except Aztec Camera - they're a bit more power pop than post-punk... kinda).

Wow, its surprising to see how popular J&MC are turning out to be here.

Yeah, I like Primal Scream but see them as another one of these inconsistent banRAB, much like the way I view the Foo Fighters (although PS are way better). Thanks for the banRAB man Ill check them out when time permits.
