Best reception period

which GSM quad-band phone has the best reception hands down? I don't care about the brand or features. I just want the best possible reception.

Thanks

If this was the pre 850 age there is very little that could compare to the R520m with the IAT-10 or the T39mc with the IAT-10

You have better luck finding a leprechaun then an IAT-10 now

Dave,

I am in the same boat as you. I have looked and it is so hard to find a straight up answer to the question. What phone has the best reception.

The problem is that that question is entirely up to opinion. The best reception I have ever had was from a Motorola V635, but others say the V635 is not that great while something like the RAZR is better, I disagree. The best option if you want really good reception (and NO features) is the new Motofone F3. Its got two antennas (one in each end) so its bound to be very very good.

As I mentioned previously, reception has alot to do with the carrier and where you are using the phone. What carrier are you going to use?

For example, if you travel overseas, you don't want a Sprint or Verizon phone, because they won't work. You need a GSM phone.

Ditto for me too. I've had a SE s710a for over a year now, and I'm ready to upgrade. I'm in Los Angeles and I've been really happy with the reception on this phone. But, I'd like to upgrade to a new phone and still get great reception. Any recommendations?

My Nokia 6030 gets the best reception that I have had in a long time. The only one that came close was the Nokia 6010. I think any of the Nokia's or Motorola's are going to be your best bet as far as reception goes.
EDIT: Just read your post again, and I don't think the 6030 would work for you as it is not a quad band phone.

My v635 USED to rock. An all-around awesome phone once you mod it with leukoplast mp. Then last week, crappy reception in the middle of major cities. Dropped call one after another. Cingular and Motorola has no explanation. My explanation is that it is now out of the 1 year warranty, so it's programed to self destruct!
