Best Receiving Verizon Phone

Reception wise is the e815 still the king?

I have a V710 and a Nokia 3589i both phones seem to have similar reception. Both phones seem to be better then most of my friends phones as far as placing calls in low signal areas.

I am looking to upgrade and I need a phone with really good signal reception since I live in a low signal area.

Is there any phone that has better reception then the e815? Which phone should I get?

I just upgraded from the e815, and the 8500 does not even compare to it, so I would not recommend that. The v325i seems to have signal strength comparable to the e815, you might want to look into that. It is a great basic phone.

The lg 8600 gets really good rf i was surprised by the way my girlfriend can get a signal where her razr didnt but the e815 is one of the best the v325i would be tad bit better in reception becuase its a tri mode like the v710 was and is good for traveling.

Ahh, I forgot that the v325i has analog. This should help a lot if you are in a low coverage area that does not have good digital reception.

As far as bringing in a digital signal, the E815 is still the king. Mine (Alltel Version but same hardware) will hold onto a signal after other phones that have analog have already given up! Since it's CDMA, you definitely want to stay with Motorola no matter what you do. And if you need a digital signal for use with data or clearer calls, I would stick to the E815. If you think an analog signal might help in certain areas, there's the V262, V710, and v325i. Actually I know the V262 and V710 have reached eol (end of life) so no cell provider sells them anymore, you have to go to ebay. My only complaint with the v325i is that it's so basic. There's the Moto W315, but again, not up to the E815 digitally and very basic. I just don't think you're going to beat the total package of the E815. Why not hold onto it a little longer instead of upgrading? Motorola should come out with newer better options in the future and LG is catching up fast, though the 8600 is very good but not quite up to the E815.

My wife and I are in the same boat.... her V710 is due for replacement (VZW NE2) at the end of April and my e815 is due in late October. I have been totally happy with the e815, but her 710 has had some odd annoyances (the charging thing!) I have a spare 815 which is in perfect shape, and she could just use that, but she has been looking at the KRZR. I am curious to see if the KRZR receives as well as the 815 (or maybe better, although the 815 is a tough act to follow)?

Maybe just sticking with the 815 is the better way to go.......

Any input on this?

How is the reception of your wife's V710 compared to your e815? My friends 815 seems to be slightly more sensitive then my V710.

From what I have been hearing the KRZR is not as good as the RAZR as far as reception goes. And as you know the e815 is better then the RAZR. So I would say if reception in fringe areas is an issue for you, I would go with the e815.

Both seem to be about the same.... it is really difficult to tell other than she has never had any dropped calls because of weak received signals. There are a few known areas of little or no signal near us, and we both drop calls when in those areas, known as "RF Ghettos".

It would be fun to try a KRZR for a few days (alongside the e815 - I actually tried this several years ago to compare two identical phones, one from Verizon and one from Cingular, to help me decide which carrier I would choose) and see just how well or poorly it works. Because there are no easily obtainable receiver sensitivity specs from Verizon, the testing would be purely based on experience. I will guess that, if they published receiver sensitivity specs, a lot of potential sales would go away.

I have the same question...
I LOVE my e815 but have fiddled with the charging thing for way too long, I have decided that I am taking it back a week before the warranty runs out for replacement....hopefully they won't try and give me another one, unless of course the charging thang has been fixed. I would love another but, I won't hold my breath. Any thoughts on a kickin' reception verizon phone?

I went in and they told me that they would need to replace the phone 3 times prior to giving me a new model phone. So they gave me anothe e815, I took it home plugged it in and guess what "unable to charge" after fiddling with it for a bit it finally took a charge.

I might just bring it back again tomorrow!

I just upgraded from and E815 that was amazimg to a GZ One . I am very happy with the GZ One, but the E815 was amazing . I don't understand why Verizon does not carry the E815 anymore. Other carriers such as Alltel still are

So I brought the e815 back again and customer rep. was being a ****, completely making up policy as he went along. I demanded a manager and he complied. When the manager came over I told him what was going on, and he sided with me....in the mean time another customer rep was playing with a brand new charger and my phone and said he got the charger to work on a regular basis...that's really all I want.

working bluetooth with DUN would be great too!
