My RAZR is 18 months old and ripe for replacement. What I want is:Similar form-factor - very thin flipGSMFast data transferVery good J2ME speed and supportCingular-compatible (Doesn't need to be available from them directly)BluetoothGood screenMemory card supportPC Application for accessing/modifying/syncing PIM data such as phone numbers and calendarI don't care about camera resolution, music playing, or a full alpha keypad - I'm good with T9 and my thumbs and I use an iPod for meda. I would prefer to avoid Windows SmartPhones. And I adore the thinness of the RAZR, which eliminates most alpha-keypad and Windows phones anyhow.

Any suggestions?

So I reguarly read posts griping that Motorola is nothing but fashion and that the RAZR is two-year-old technology, but there's nothing better than the RAZR for the small flip-phone lover?

Nokia 6131 is pretty thin, but not as thin as the RAZR. You could just get a KRZR too. Samsung has done some have hearted attempts, but most of their super thin phones have been sliders or candy bars. Sony Ericsson makes no pretense of having thin phones, another option could be the LG CU500.

I like the RAZR fine, but the V3X seems like a tiny little upgrade - adding video conferencing for 3g which Cingular lacks and not supporting EDGE at all. The Nokia 6131 (/6133) seem like a good choice except for the gripes about the paint flaking off and the extremely short battery life. Not that my RAZR does real well in the battery-life department; even with a new battery it doesn't last very long.

Having had several LGs and S-Es in the family, we're eager to avoid any more. Nokia, Motorola and Qualcomm/Kyocera have been our best experiences, with Siemens okay and LG and S-E at the bottom of the pack.

How does the KRZR stack up to the 6133/6131?

Well, in terms of UI the Nokia will be better. The and Nokias screens are better as well. However the KRZR's screens are still pretty nice and it has a better camera. The UI has been overhauled a little bit so the crappy phone book is better than before, and the phone also has A2DP as well. The front is glass I believe so scratching will not be as big of a deal. In terms of keypads its a mixed bag. Some people say that the Nokia has a good keyboard, some hate it. Overall, the KRZR will most likely seem very familiar in comparison to your RAZR, so it might be better in that regard.

Except it lacks GSM 850 (like the V3x), which means your reception will be crappy. If you want reception similar to that of your RAZR, I recommend you stay away from the Z510 or V3x just because they lack one of the major bands used in North America.

There are a lot of wanna be Razr's out there but most of them come from China and Korea, which means they really dont have 850.

Some phones i can name that are slim or slimmer then most, or which are small are the Samsung C417, D600, and D900, SE w810i, Nokia 8801, theres also the Cingular 3125 but that has windows mobile, the slvr, v3i, and Krzr, but those are alot like the V3.

Those are a few I can think of. There really isnt a lot that arent. most people these days are stuffing alot into tiny packages. Like Music capabilities, high megapixel cameras and so on
