Best Quotes From Anime Movies

I love Anime. It's great fun. One of the things I love about Anime is some of the dialogue delivered brilliantly by the voice actors.

Some of my favourite quotes are:

"Get out of the f***ing way!" (Ghost In The Shell)

"Great! That's all we f***ing need!" (Wicked City)

"This is pretty embarassing! I'm getting too old to piss in my bed!" (Monster City)

"Hey! These belong to you!?!" (Fist of the North Star)

"Oh, boy! You're such a foooool. I threw that hellish thing away!" (Ninja Scroll)

"You won't be alive long enough to remember my name..." (Samurai X - Trust)

"Any man tough enough to beat the crap out of Sagat is a man I want found!" (Street Fighter II - The Movie)

Have you got any great one-liners from Anime? Any suggestions for an good anime with really good dialogue?

Well, I can suggest Love Hina and Kare Kano, but they are both romantic comedies so you shouldn't really watch them if you don't like that kinda thing! (I also recommend you read the manga after watching the anime as it contains a lot more, this goes for most anime series!)

I'm not sure eastend fan's suggestions will suit you, there's not much flesh in Love Hina or Kare Kano (well OK, Love Hina has some but it's more for comedic value), certainly nothing hentai-esque.

I'm not really into the violent stuff unless the violence is part of a decent plot but perhaps shows such as Yuu Yuu Hakusho (112 episodes of non-stop fighting), Basilisk (2 Ninja clans fighting each other with all sorts of powers and dirty tricks), Tenjou Tenge, History's Strongest Disciple: Kenichi, Ergo Proxy, or Blood+ would be more to your taste.

Don't get me wrong, Love Hina and Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou are both excellent shows (Kare Kano is one of my all-time favourites); they're just very different from anything you originally listed. Of course if you want something different than your usual fare then may i also suggest El Hazard, Aishiteruze Baby, Code Geass, Gakuen Alice and of course Lucky Star when you've watched enough anime to get the jokes. :D

As for quotes, practically anything from Lucky Star (especially anything Konata says) is eminitely quotable (there's even a Fist of the north star parody).

Ah, now there's another bone of contention...

Are we getting true translation subtitles of the Japanese sound track, or are we just getting written lines from the American dub?

I just about know enough Japanese worRAB now to be able to tell the difference.

Good point.

I have Jackie Chan's Young Master on video and on DVD. Both say different things at different times. How can you know that what they're saying is actually the truth?
