Best Pocket phone?

My phone tends to sit in my pocket for most of the day. I don't like putting a phone on a belt loop or anything like that.

To me a "pocket" phone means it is:

1) small -- doesn't take up a lot of space
2) vibrate you can feel through clothing
3) ring you can hear through clothing
4) screen doesn't scratch easily
5) no accidental calls, button pushes, etc (without locking out the keypad)
--I assume a flip phone is best for those last 2 reasons
optional) camera, speakerphone, Bluetooth
not really necessary, but cool) touch-screen, video voicemail

I've been using the Pantch c300, and may continue, but I have one problem: I miss calls when it is charging, because I usually set it on vibrate during the day, and it stays on vibrate when charging (unlike Motorola, for example, which rings out loud). I never remember to change it.

Other good pocket phones? (I'm on AT&T GSM if that helps)

RAZR V3xx comes to mind.

Someone may mention the new Samsung too (the non-Sync flip one).

You're not going to find a pocket-sized phone with a touchscreen or visual voicemail.

My current phone is the Samsung i500 which *is* a very pocketable, small flipphone with a touchscreen, running PalmOS. I love it for all those reasons. It is discontinued, but still obtainable, and with a loyal user base. We all wish someone would make a proper successor to it (same great flipphone formfactor, with a more modern PDA OS).

Anyways, for something slightly similar, the Cingular 3125 is a thin flipphone, running Smartphone WM5. And Verizon has the Pantech PN-820, in the same vein. Neither have touchscreens, though...

You consider the i500 very pocketable ? However, I do think there are pocketable touchscreen phones. The LG Prada for instance. The Motorola E6 (I keep it in my pocket all the time, works well). If you consider the prada and E6 too big, there's the Neonode N2. For me it's all about the thickness. Most phones under 15mm thick are fine for pockets. You're not going to find too many pocketable flip touchscreen phones though.

Anyways, what else can you tell us? I mean there are so many options. One important thing is how much you'd like to spend.

I was actually kidding on the video voicemail and the touch screen (but if a phone had those I wouldn't mind)

Interesting that several people mentioned the RAZR, as that's the one I got recently when there was a price drop for the Prepaid ones. Is the V3xx or any of the other versions much better than the regular V3? I was told that the RAZR's have poor vibrates, but my friend's (VZ version) practically bounces off any flat surface. On first impression, the phone is slim, but wide, though that may still work in a pocket.

KRZR, Samsung i500, 3125, I'll take a look.

Any other phone ideas? (no video voicemail necessary )

Most slim phones are a bit wider than some of the others...it's a tradeoff. Personally, I prefer the width because it allows for a bigger, more visible screen and bigger keys. Then again, I was on the verge of despair seeing how small phones were getting.

Thin phones are best for pocketability, really. One problem I noticed with the RAZRs though, is their volume buttons are easily pressed by something else in the pocket, so that might accidentally take it out of vibrate mode.

If you're looking for a more basic phone: Samsung A727, Samsung A717 would work. The A717 is actually a pretty good phone.

If you'd like a smartphone: the Nokia N76 would make a good choice.

nokia 8800/01 by far. small but heavy so you know it is still in your pocket - the sliding feature is great. battery life sucks.

I would say the moto slvr....however i have pulled it out of my pocket only to find that it has accessed media net without my consent.

Nokia 6102i
It's my current phone... It sounds perfect for you. It has bluetooth, a vga camera, somewhat small (it's just a bit thick), but it fits in my pocket easily. Full color internal and external screens, flip design, video recording. If you're wondering about any other features, email me-- [email protected] -- Sorry, but I only check my email once or twice a day so it could take be up to one day to respond

P.S. Great battery life! I charge it every night and it always shows that it has a full battery, and that's with much use all the time. I do use aim, which takes up a lot of the battery, but it takes hours to show that the battery has drained at all while using aim.
