What is the best plan for rogers for voice, and data for personal use. I just want to email (10-15 emails), msn and websurfing on the phone. What is the best plan I need from Rogers to do that?

Where abouts are you located in Canada? I'm in NS...

You have a few options. Numbers based on Ontario.
You can keep your phone plan (voice) and add on a data plan though the wireless essentials. In Ontario you have a Mega time plan. 40 dollars for 250 minutes... (i think) and then you could add on the data for $60 (25MB).
There is a $90 voice & data plan for BlackBerry's that you can get from them. This is cheaper than the megatime plans and adding data.

If you are using the data for more than once or twice a month don't touch the .5 or 1MB plans as you'll be seeing a bill for 100's of dollars for data.

If you use more than your 25MB there is one above the $60 plan. $100 for 200MB of data.

With all this please call Rogers customer service and get the quotes from them or on the Rogers website.

Hope this helps!

It hurts. I call their cust serv all the time asking. Email is useless. I want a vp at Rogers email address. Ask for action on getting better prices or a break down of why we get the screw on BlackBerry data.

I work for Rogers and what I suggest is starting with a basic voice plan and the $60 data plan. You'll get 3 mnths unlimited and half price which will give you some time to gauge your useage. Then choose a plan that fits you. Right now on any data plan you can double your useage for only $5 more so keep that in mind when choosing.

a Rogers rep called me the other night doing a follow up on my new pearl, i asked the rep is there any "unlimited" data, and he said there is one for $95 with voice. You get around 800 emails a day... and thats the "unlimited" Rogers offer

Not sure if this plan is still available... it's been a couple of months, but I'm pretty sure this is a pretty permanant 'unadvertized deal breaker' plan.
The plan number is 1324 as far as I can remember. It won't be on the listed plans on the dealers computer list, but dealers can put you on it if they call into their dealer line and request it.

Plan details are(or at least they used to be....)
$40 --350 anytime mins + bonus 350 anytime mins for a total of 700 minutes per month, with unlim nights/weekends.

There's the usual 2 or 3 year contract attached, but as far as I can tell, that's the best plan Rogers has, IMO (which is why it's very unadvertized-- most dealers don't even know about it, but I liked to dig around and find the goodies =)
I put myself on it before I left Rogers.... Hope other people can take advantage of it as well.

Like I said before..... it's been a few months, but hopefully this plan is still available for people to take advantage of....

Enjoy!
