Best Picture Oscar - My Rank Order

I've finally seen all 5 movies up for Best Picture a the Oscars. I have a slightly different opinion to most of the expert opinions I have read.Heres my personal ranking of the movies:

1st - The Reader(My tip for the Oscar - The movie had me gripped from start to finish. It is a well told story and superbly acted. I totally believed the characters and was throughly entertained...just wonderful)

2nd - The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button(This doesn't seem to be getting enough recognitiion this year. I thought the story was incredibly well told and the acting was great. I dont think any of the Actor/Actress awarRAB will go to this one but it is a quality movie that has been superbly directed. I thought it just about had the edge over Slumdog)

3rd - Slumdog(Thoroughly enjoyable and was raving about this after seeing it. On closer inpsection it has some holes in it but perhaps I am being too picky)

4th - Milk(Sean penn was great but ive seen better attempts at movies in this genre - i preferred Stonewall)

5th - Frost/Nixon(Great acting but lacking something in movie format for me)

I think mine would have to be:

1 - The Reader (an excellent film which was truly gripping with a stunning lead role by Kate Winslet)

2 - The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (truly wonderful film told brilliantly)

3 - Milk (fantastic lead by Sean Penn and a very interesting story portrayed excellently)

4 - Frost/Nixon (obvious that it came from a stage play, dragged a bit but good nonetheless)

5 - Slumdog Millionaire (didn't like it at all. Just not my kind of film)

Mines:

1) Slumdog Millionaire- fantastic
2) The Reader- amazing story and very true to the book
3)Frost/Nixon- very well acted and extremely engaging
4) Milk- not seen it but I bet its better than the utter tripe of my fifth choice
5) TCCOBB- tripe, not well acted- very wooden at times. Only Tilda Swinton and Benjamins Mother and Father were any good.

My order is...

1) The Curious case of Benjamin Button - A great story with powerful performances. I was gripped throuhout and loved every minute of it.

2) Frost/Nixon - Not at all what I expected, as I was pleasantly suprised at how good it was. Great acting in a successful dramatised version of real events.

3) Slumdog Millionaire - Interesting story with some good scenes, and slight moments of suspense. I enjoyed this, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

4) The Reader - Wow, didn't enjoy this at all unfortunately. Seeing a 15 year old boy and a 30 something women milling about naked for the first 45 minutes wasnt exactly entertaining. The story lost its edge and became boring for me. The last 40 minutes were a drag and towarRAB the end I was past caring about any of the characters at all.

5) Milk - Maybe slightly unfair to list this at number 5, seeing as I did not finish the movie through, mainly due to boredom and the large amounts of man on man action. Seeing as this was the only movie out of the 5 which I had to switch off, it would pointless to put it any higher.

To be honest, I think 'Changeling' and 'The Wrestler' should have been up there. My customised list would be -

1) The curious case of Benjamin Button
2) Changeling
3) The Wrestler
4) Frost/Nixon
5) Slumdog Millionaire

"large amounts of man on man action" LOL.
that reminRAB of years ago when a friend of mine went to a revival house to watch "Caligula" and believed she was settling in to watch an historical account of the Roman Empire. Much to her surprise... :D

anyway, my selection:

1. Slumdog (I'd be happy with Milk in #1 as well)
2. Milk
3. Curious Case
4. The Reader
5. (didn't see) Frost / Nixon
