Hello. I need some help. Im going with Cingular and i wanted to know what is the best phone u can buy for them??

1. It has to be under $200 (Before or after Rebates, i dont care)
2. Decent camera
3. I prefer flip phone, but that doesn't really matter

I need the best!! No BS lol. Thanx

Well you have alot of options if your getting new service and have a budget of 200.00.

For the flip phones segmant I would say the Razr, which is 99.99 with 2yr plan regaurdless of color. Sure everyone has one but I find it to be a great phone. I kept this phone longer then I have kept any of phone. I just love the design. For motorola is also has GREAT reception. It had good enough reception to compete with the Nokia 6102. Which also the 6102 is a great beginner phone It has great reception and a great form factor. Sure its not slim but its small enough to carry without really noticing it. The 6102i is the same phone but with bluetooth and its out now and its only 9.99 with new 2yr activation and some places its free.

If you were willing togo outside the flip phones the Slvr L7 is a much better phone then the razr if you want built in mp3 and expandable memory. Its slimmer first of all and it also has itunes and expandable memory. Which really makes it better then the razr. But its a candy bar phone so that of course could be a downside. Its 99.99 refurbished and 199.99 new with 2yr activation.

Another intesting phone is the D807. I used one in the store for a little while and found the sound quality to be good and it feels great holding and talking on. Its also very small for a slider being somewhere around 20mm thick which is a little thicker the the razr and 14mm. its 129.99

Overall I would go with the Slvr L7 or the D807 if you were willing to go outside the flip phone style. Both are great phones with Mp3 players and expandable memory along with bluetooth and a camera in addition to all the standard basic features.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Thanx... I was just lookin at the Cingular 8125, 2125 & the Motorola Q. Now i think i want a PDA or smartphone now, something with many features. Sorry

Yea the 8125 is a GREAT phone. I know someone who owns one. I use it all the time. I just dont know if I want to carry such a big phone. Thats the only thing thats been keeping me from it.

The 2125 is I guess just the 8125 without the full slide out Qwerty keyboard.

As for the Motorola Q thats Exclusive to Verizon for now and we cant get it for Cingular. I have read somewhere around the end of the Q3/early Q4 we should get the Q but thats only a rumor, so who knows.

I would say go with the 8125 for the qwerty keyboard or the 2125 for the slightly smaller size.

Thanx so much...Now im really thinkin about gettin the 8125 now. Size doesnt really matter for me cuz i would have gotten the sidekick 2. Is the 8125 good for text messaging, does it support AIM??

The 8125 is GREAT for messaging since it does have the qwery keyboard, it makes everything so much easier.

As for AIM it doesnt come with or support that program. It only comes with MSN messenger but you can get programs like Agile Messenger (my friend has that on his) and they work great. Agile messenger uses a data plan for sending IMs and not text messaging which is great. It supports multiple IM clients including Aol.

This is what cingular.com says regaurding this:
