Best pda style phone for Cricket? Your opinion appreciated!

Just curious what opinions are of people who have actually USED a fully flashed Cricket pda style phone, what is the best, and why?

I've heard a lot of good stuff on the Moto Q, but understand there are several versions of the Q...the Q, Q9c, Q9m, etc. If you like the Q, what's the best one to look for?

What about the Treo?

Any others?

I want full Cricket functionality: web (WAP), pic messaging (MMS), text messaging (SMS), and roaming capability.

Slim form factor is nice as well. I currently have a SLVR 7c and like the fact that I can slip it into my front shirt pocket.

Thanks for your opinion!

I've used a ton of PDAs on Cricket.

If you need a slim form factor, go with the Touch. If you need a hardware keyboard, though, the Touch won't fit your neeRAB and I'd recommend a Mogul. If you'd rather not have a touchscreen, go with the SMT5800 or S720. If you really like the idea of having a keyboard out front, get a Treo. If you want a keyboard out front without a touchscreen, go with a Q9.

Well, apart from the slim form factor the mogul (ppc6800) is, in my opinion, the BEST pda phone that the wonderful people here at Hofo have managed to crack. And thanks to to0's rom, which conveniently saves you the trouble of having to delete a registry key, it has gotten even better. It's a great phone, the internet and picture messaging works great. Roaming works as well with the right PRL. This phone can do anything.

If your one of those who love AIM and was saddened by Cricket stopping AIM support through text messages then you'll love Palringo, thanks to fabricatedhero we now have an AIM client that works with a Cricket phone (as well as MSN Messenger, Yahoo, and Google Talk).

Also if you like your email to be synced to your phone there's a great program out there called Funarabol. It works like Outlook would by getting your email on the phone and backs up your contacts and calendar.

Also, this is one thing that pretty much sells me on the mogul (haven't tested this with any other PDA phones, but I know it doesn't work on regular flashed phones): the SMS isn't limited like other phones. On a normal Cricket phone or even a flashed phone I was STUCK with just sending a 150 character message at a time, with this phone I can send 4 or 5 pages of messages at one time, that way I can keep typing my message and not stopping a quarter of the way through it in order to send one part of it. Again, I don't know if it works or not on other PDA phones but I know for a fact it does on the 6800.

But I'm really biased bc I love this phone and I think you would too.
Everything I just told you probably works on other PDA phones but I'm too in love with the mogul to try.

Let me strap one more question on here (without turning this into a buying/selling forum). Where is the best place online to buy your recommended pda cricket phone?

BTW: PM me if you have one for sale...

Exactly but don't forget the greatest program WMwifirouter :clapping: :2thurabs:

SMS on my Mogul is limited...what gives? I would also suggest the Mogul just a wonderful phone! The only drawback is the mini usb headphones are crap, I had to buy an adapter so I could properly listen to music. Also the USB port it's self is horribly flimsy, I broke mine after only a few months and it was the second time I messed it up, merely by just plugging in my charger. That is probably just an isolated problem though.

If you want a slim option, go with a Touch. It has almost all the same features as the Mogul, sans WiFi and a hardware keyboard. But it is every bit as functional.

Regardless of you decision, always take the time to visit your local dealerships and get a feel for each hanRABet in person.

mogul. just imagine u have the touch and then.... lose your stylus... the touchFLO is aight but not so great either.. id say a mogul. everyone else described it so i dnt need to..

Not to split hairs with you, but a stylus isn't 100% necessary in order to use a Touch. Likewise, a Touch isn't rendered completely worthless if you were to lose it's stylus. I say this and I have large, clumsy fingers (which may explain why I'm currently single  ).

I agree, however, that the Mogul is the better of the two--just not nearly as slim as the Q or Touch for that matter.

Honestly the only time I use my stylus with the Mogul is when playing Bubble Breaker (the standard game). I can't imagine the Touch which is designed for more for your fingers with TouchFlo could be much different. You can always wait a month and get a Diamond if price isn't an issue.
