Best Onscreen Friendship

Totally the boys in Stand by Me.

And the two boys in Son of Rambow. I could cry every time at the end.
 
My absolute favourite is
CC Bloom and Hillary Whitney in Beaches. That whole movie is just a beautiful depiction of a life time friendship!

I also like Vada and Thomas J (my Girl) Gordie and Chris in Stand By Me.

I also loved the friendships in Beaches and My Girl. I know there are so many more but those are the ones that were really touching to me.
 
First and foremost, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants! The best-friendship between the four is just so beautiful..

The Stepford Wives - Nicole Kidman's character, Bette Midler's character, and the gay guy! a definate friendship between the three
 
Andie and Iona from pretty in pink. Iona was older had experiernce was out there had a life and she still cared enought o look out for andie spend time with her and even take advice form her much the same as andie did for her she really was a true friend.

also vada and thomas j in Mygirl because thomas did so much for her he went back for her ring because it meant so much he went with her with all her crazy ideas about being sick with the doctor and she the same made thomas j happy because he was having fun a perfect friendship.

Molly Singer and Corrina from Corrina Corrina becaue her friendship to her helped her get over the death of her mother and she took to time to listen to her and understand what was happening even lied for her and molly had cried so hard when she was away and missed her and wanted for her to be a part of her family.
 
I think Beaches is the best example of friendship that I've seen on film!! I laugh and cry everytime I see it and I've seen it many times!!

The four boys in Stand By Me. For me, no friendship has come close to how strong their's was.
 
Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp in Tombstone. Cause no matter what Doc was there for Wyatt and vice versa. Its like Doc says in which he had a conservation with Jack Johnson...

Turkey Creek Jack Johnson: Why you doin' this, Doc?
Doc Holliday: Because Wyatt Earp is my friend.
Turkey Creek Jack Johnson: Friend? Hell, I got lots of friends.
Doc Holliday: ...I don't.

I just rewatched this the other day, and I agree with this! In fact, one of the things I pointed out to my sister at the time was the way they always know what the other is thinking, and how one doesn't have to finish a sentence before the other answers. It's not an obvious, in-your-face friendship, but it's still a strong one.

I agree with everyone who mentioned the Fellowship, that just goes without saying :love: Sam and Frodo get a special mention, just because, but I love the different dynamics all nine of them had, and even though certain pairs became better friends, they didn't lost their bond with the others.
 
Stand By Me must be one of the best movies about friendship. Personally I think Gordie and Chris really demonstrate the best onscreen friendship...the way they supported each other and the way they intereacted...very sweet.

I initially thought of the St. Elmo's Fire gang. Those were some pretty funny but charming relationships! I so need to get this on DVD. Especially since I finish college next year... :eek:

Merry & Pippin were great. They were so close and so concerned for the other's well being. I loved their songs and dances too! :D
 
There have been so many beautiful onscreen friendships in movie history, but my favorite has got to be the relationship between Hallie and Annie in The Parent Trap. :sigh: I just love that movie.
 
You know, re-reading my previous post I have no idea what the hell I was talking about. I mean, I can't stand Forest Gump! :lol:

I must have been in a super good mood or just misread the posts...

But I still stick with Damiel and Cassiel of Wings of Desire, and I'd like to add Danny Lee and Chow-Yun Fat's characters from The Killer. Best.buddy.bonding.movie.ever.
