Does anybody else love British films? Sometimes i prefer them over American films. Some of my fave Britflicks are:

*Trainspotting
*Shaun Of the Dead
*The Football Factory
*Billy Elliot
*Lock, Stock...
*Snatch
*East is east
*51st State
*Shallow Grave

Does anybody have any recomandations?? Also is 'Goodbye Charlie Bright' any good?

I bore myself with my Brit choices, but..

Dead Mans Shoes
Once Upon A Time In The MidlanRAB
24-7
A Room For Romeo Brass
Life Is Sweet
51st State
Secrets And Lies
Nuts In May
Whistle Down The Wind
Nil By Mouth

I could probably go on, if I had the memory.

Goodbye Charlie Bright is Ok, it's a pretty bog standard coming-of-age story about two laRAB in London, one will go the right way, one will get into trouble with the law, etc. Check out Bullet Boy (came out this year) for the same kind of thing done better.

Other less well known British films to take into consideration:

Sweet Sixteen
Dirty Pretty Things
Dead Mans Shoes (of course)
My Summer of love
Ae Fond Kiss
The General
A room for Romeo Brass
I Went Down
Hear my song
24 Hour Party People
Morvern Callar
Urban Ghost Story
The Magdalene Sisters
Last Resort
Dog Soldiers

The Long Good Friday starring Bob Hoskins & Helen Mirren from around 1979/1980. Fantastic movie. The end scene is brilliantly done. Keeps the audience guessing.

Also - Mona Lisa sprang to mind when I typed Bob Hoskins. That was around 1986

Dont forget Human Traffic!!

The Layer Cake is a VERY good film!!! if you like your lock stock, snatch and any other good british gangster/crime thriller, you'd like the Layer Cake!!

28 Days Later is also another good british film.. scares the **** out of me sometimes!

Thanks for your suggestions! keep them coming! I've watched Human Traffic but that was ages ago..i seemed to enjoy it! Love actually, Little Voice i have watched! lol
Films i am going to rent thanks to you lovely people:
*Layer Cake
*A Room For Romeo Brass
*Dead Mans Shoes
*Twenty four-seven
*Goodbye Charlie Bright
*24-7 party people

Brighton Rock
The Blue Lamp
The League of Gentlemen (not extraordinary!)
Dead of Night
Hell Drivers
Wicker Man
Clockwork Orange
If
O Lucky Man
Britannia Hospital
Zed and Two Noughts
Draftsman's Contract
Born to Boogie :)
Get Carter
Loneliness of The Long Distance Runner
Tales From The Crypt (the Amicus one)
Quatermass and The Pit

Forgot to mention I'll Sleep when I'm dead, should be available to rent now, it's kind of like an alternative gangster film to Lock,Stock, Layer Cake and all that lot.

If you like directors commentaries the ones on Room for Romeo Brass and Dead Mans Shoes are really funny.

If you like gangster/robbery films

Sexy Beast and
Mr In-Between

Having said that, if you see the pilot film for The Sweeney (there may have been 2) , you should not be too unimpressed
