Best new Android phone for T-mobile?

PLP

Hello everyone! I am looking to get a new phone in the near future. I am on the T-mobile plan and currently have the G1. I want to know everyone's opinion on phones that are available or coming out in the next few months. i saw that LG and a couple other brands have some good phones coming out. I was wondering everyone's opinion on phones?

Thanks!

Viper

I think the LG G2X is the one to get, with AT&T trying to buy out T-Mobile the G2X has both T-Mo and AT&T 4g bands, thus future proofing it.

Also coming from Samsung is the Samsung Galaxy 2 with a 4.3" screen.

I wrestled with this until recently. Either get the G2x or the Nexus S.

On one hand you've got a dual core processor (although the NS has a dedicated gpu). On the other you'll get timely software updates (although the G2x may get them, who knows). By the time T-mo and ATT figure out any merge details it'll probably be long past your next upgrade. Personally, in a year or so I'd rather have a pretty decent PC running Windows 7 than a top of the line system stuck on XP. (If that makes sense).

For me its the g2x or the HTC pyramid...im looking for the latter to be officially announced with specs before i make me decision.
I personally feel this merger wont go thru. and even if it does by the time the network is fully integrated youll be up for an upgrade again

Hence why I wouldn't worry about getting a dual band phone. They'll have to allow you an upgrade or a replacement phone anyway. I'd rather get a new phone... They said it would take about 12 months just to get through the merger, your dual band phone well be a year old! A dinosaur by the way tech moves (that's how I feel about my N1 these days).

Thanks for all your help guys if anyone else has more info I look forward to hearing it I guess I'll wait for more news about the pyramid since people are talking about that. are there any date on when the specs will be released? Also, is T-mobile the best carrier to be on my contract time is coming up so I could transfer if there was enough reason to.

So right now it looks to be down to:

G2X

Galaxy S (S2 possibly?)

Nexus S

Pyramid

Any more thoughts?

pyramid may have a signed bootloader(locked) meaning it may take months to get root, like the g2. not sure how long the g2 took, but i remember following in irc for sometime.
