Best Music tracker

i've got waffles and torrentech - waffles is organized and really great, but since im looking for a lot of underground electronica and dubplates, TT has a lot of rare stuff that i love. not to mention they have a great online radio and lots of resident dj's - i hang out in the radio irc all the time!

overall i find that the cats at waffles are a bit elitist and the guys at TT are really chilled out and just there to share tunes and chat :]

What.CD is right now the best music tracker.
510,000 torrents while waffles has only half of that.

I think in terms of all the statistics What is beating every music tracker + they have beautiful layout and nice navigation, useful artist search and some other interesting options. It's simply the best. In other words you won't find a better place.

Not to mention that they uploaded almost 15,000 100% accurate FLAC albums in just a week. - this is how much torrents have well established trackers that specialize in FLAC - and they are around for many years..
quite true.
couldnt have said that better :yup:

Honestly, there is no best music tracker.

And that sums it up. It's all about opinion. For some just a scene music tracker is best, to others a specialized lossless tracker is best.

For me it's a combination of several trackers. Something like Demonoid, Torrents.ru, What/Waffles, and the three lossless trackers is what I use. Not to mention other methods like Soulseek and warez forums.

How can you get into what.cd and waffles? Only invite only?

If you are knowledgable about encoding, different audio compression algorithms, have basic bittorrent knowledge, and are registered on a few other private trackers (with good / acceptable ratio I assume), you could try your luck in the interview for a What.cd invite:

http://whatinterviewprep.webs.com/

Even if you are not knowledgable, all you need for the interview can be found on that site.

Be forwarned though, the interview is rather thorough, and especially for newbies in that area, not exactly a piece of cake. Either know your stuff, or be well prepared.

There have been loads of comments by so many people. I will try to summarize what they said :P
What.cd is the biggest tracker for music lovers. It has the largest number of artists and albums, and ofc, 95,000 registered users with close to 500,000 torrents between them. They have recently expanded their collection of 100% FLACs.
What.cd is being closely followed by Waffles. Its easier to put it this way, if its not on waffles, you can try your luck with What.cd , and vice versa. These two trackers look after the needs of most music lovers.

Moving on, if you listen to a specific genre, there are trackers dedicated to them. Like TT for Trance, DB9 for DnB, LzTr for classical and Jazz and so on.

If you are very particular about the formats you like your music in, Pedro's BTMusic is the best for FLAC. (They have the highest quality rips with equal emphasis on cover art as well). E**** is also another tracker dedicated to FLACs and lossless content.

With that, i would like to add that there is no 'True' winner, when we talk about music trackers in general. Its all about your choices, preferences and tastes.

I agree, Demonoid is really underrated when it comes to music. Found some old / rare electronic music there that is not even on TT.
