Any advantages with opening a new account at a Bell store in my local mall, speaking with a representative face to face or would I get a better deal if I called them on the phone?
Wouldn't solving billing problems be easier if my account was at a Bell store?

I have heard that people get a better result with speaking on the phone. I placed my order on the phone and had no issue.

Go talk at the mall but order online and get a extra credit if you wish expressvu. Your account will end up at the same place no matter how you order. Bell store sells things and can't help with the billing problems you will have.

I'll say it's better throught Direct Sales, on the phone...

I heard so many stories of people being promised things at the store, then when they call to activate got really mad that they coudn't get it...

I would strongly suggest NOT to go through the stores. They charge you a professional installation deposit without booking one. Then you have to call direct sales and then you get charged another deposit because they cannot book you a professional installation without that deposit. So you end up paying two deposits instead of one. Ideally, you would get both deposits back.

I will correct HotBird statement...

When you go to the store and want a rental they make you buy a rental certificate and tell you you have to call in and book an install date. The person willask you the rental certificate number, which would be on the paper they gave you at the store and won't charge you anything more.

No if you call not mentionning you've been to the store and already purchased a rental certificate Direct Sales will charge you the rental certificate again, how can they know you already purchase one?

Yea Haystack, it seems simple, but there is NO communication between them
As soon as you purchase the rental certificate, it should be in bells system
It's 2007, and they want you to provide rental certificate #'s?
Maybe if the salespersons commission was dependent on setting up the account properly, so the new customer doesn't have to jump through flaming hula hoops to get the install, billing and other info correct

All rental customer have to purchase a rental certificate that is 50$ for SD receiver or 100$ for HD, regardless of the channel from which they make the order (phone or store). That rental certificate is refunded on your first bill after the activation

What if the agent made a mistake when he/she entered the info? That's on of the reson that they ask you the rental certificate number again, to validate the info that is there and nmake sure evrything will be just as you planned it

In some other stores they are able to dierctly enter the number in the system and select a date...it really depends what store you go to

Oh I see. Some stores expressvu trust to do it themselves and others expressvu need to validate to make sure the agent did not make a mistake when they entered the info.

Even dealing directly with Express Vu is no Guarantee that it will be correct, hell we see dozens of incorrect Orders EVERY DAY.

We even get Bell VIP Installations wrong because Managers "forget" to mention that all receivers are to be connected using DP / DPP Equipment on site. We arrive there, not knowing it is a VIP and quite correctly, the Technician has to refuse to carry out the installation, it is so laughable.

I know of people who have used Bell World Stores in the past if they wanted something doing that might be seen as contradicting the official rules of engagement..

I do love your pessimism, haystack.....lol

Yes but unfortunately it is not natural but an acquired attribute built up from experiences.
