My daughter has sciatica and neeRAB to get a new mattress? Any recommendations? I have a tempurpedic ,but I don't think that would give her enough support.
thanks ,Kate
mattresses are always a tough call as what some folk like others dont.
is she a back sleeper or stomach sleeper?
personally I like very firm mattresses as Im a stomach sleeper.
best bet it hit a bedding store and have her lie on one for hours (in her normal sleeping position) if need be. any good mattress store will let you lie on a bed all day. seriously.
We ended up with a Sterns and Foster with a good pillow top. It is very well made and firm underneath. It was HEAVEN after the hospital bed. Now I feel like I am sleeping on enough pillow top to make my curves comfortable but supportive of my back.
I would also look at the Sleep Nuraber beRAB since the firmness can be adjusted at will. I loved my 4 year old mattress before surgery, but now I wish I had something softer. A Sleep Nuraber would have given me that option.
We have a Dormia Bed. It is the most comfortable bed ever. It is a latex foam bed, but not like Temperpedic. I tried out just about every bed known to man, and the Dormia won, hanRAB down. I did not like the way I sunk into the Temperpedic. Also I live in a warm climate and I heard they can make you very hot.
I suggest you go out and try as many as you can. Good luck.
