Best martial art for me?

I understand different martial arts are better for certain builds. I'd like to learn one. I'm fit, average height, but I have a very small frame. Tiny bones. I have small hands so I think MAs that involve lots of striking will be bad (compound that with my light build, not a powerful punch). On the other hand, my frame lets me be very quick and agile. I move pretty well as well.

I'd like to learn something that will help me in a street fight with an opponent of any size. I don't want to be able to KO anybody, just take them down or stun them quickly enough to get away. I got punched at party a little while ago. I basically botched a joke about some gangsta's belt; he was so drunk he didn't remember I knew for years and thought I was some random guy trying to start a fight. He was a really big, strong guy.

I realized even though he was drunk, he would have destroyed me (he was a boxer after all). I wanna change that. I am proud to say I saw the punch coming and managed to roll away from it avoiding serious damage.

Advice?
Could you elaborate? Someone suggested jujitsu to me because it focuses on quick attacks to joints and stuff to knock someone over quickly.
My reflexes aren't fast, just average. I can just react faster because I'm light. I'm nowhere near as fit as Bruce Lee, thought I didn't know he had small hands. Tried boxing once. Got seven punches in, then got knocked silly when I opened up.
Every match i had with this guy went like that. I get a bunch of punches in, he has no reaction, and then basically hits straight through my hands into my face and sends me reeling.

As for the drunk people that always seem to like to brawl, I have no clue. I know I could probably dodge them for a little while but my weak as punches would do nothing to them. I just want to maybe take 'em down quickly so I could run (I'm thinking like Daniel Craig style in James where he hits the joints, pulls on things, and the guy collapses for a few seconds)
I don't want to do this competetively by any means, just for quick self-defense against untrained people if the occasion arises. I'm guessing most people disciplined enough to learn a martial won't go around trying to fight or mug people. I don't think pain will take down somebody absolutely drunk, but if I could just learn to throw them off-balance, that would be good.
