Best laptop for photography in $900-1300 range?

I've just started getting into photography and photo editing. I was wondering what kind of laptops or what kind of specs would be most suitable for me, keeping in mind that my price range is $900-1300.

I've been looking at the new 2.26GHz 2GB Macbook, but any other suggestions would be fine.
 
I have an inexpensive (under $500) Lenovo I use as my remote computer when on assignment.

It is perfectly fine for what I do using PS CS2 and Lightroom 2.4. All I had to add is a 1 tb external drive for when I am on the road for a month or so.

Since we have to get a new notebook every two to three years, spending more than $600 a pop is not a good business plan

Make sure which ever notebook you buy has an ExpressCard 54 port.
