Ok so I really want to paint my car myself but dont have much money and i was thinking of spraypainting or roll-painting it.. Either way, what kind of paint is THE BEST for cars? Please be specific

DO NOT DO IT!!!. Paint and body work is a skill. When performed by someone who is not properly trained, you can and will severely damage and devalue your vehicle costing you several thousand dollars above and beyond what a paint job would have been to begin with. A paint job that is equivalent to a factory paint job will cost at least $2500.

Automobiles are not painted with roll on paint or spray paint. Automotive paint is incredibly thin and watery in it's consistency and must be applied using an air power spray gun. A good spray gun like a SATA will cost about $600. A compressor will cost about another $500. Quality materials will cost about another $1200 if you can get a hold of them. Most of the good paint manufacturers like Dupont, Spies Hekker, Sikkens, House of Kolor and Dupont will only sell to shops and not the general public. You must still buy sandpaper and masking materials which will cost about another $200-$300.

If you do not have the money to have the car painted properly, then do not do it. You will not be able to paint it correctly and you will severely devalue your car.

IF MONEYS THAT TIGHT GO TO ORCHELIN AND BUY SUM ENAMEL TRACTOR PAINT THE COLORS ARE LIMITED BUT REMEMBER TO GET HARDENER WITH IT AND SPRAY PAINT IT DO NOT ROLL!!!! I PAINTED MY WIFES TRUCK FOR 35 BUCKS MAKE SURE YOU STRAIN THE PAINT AS YOU PUT IT IN YOUR PAINT GUN

Enamel or Acrylic would cheapest and best.
I have known people to use house paint.
And to be honest I have painted the back of my own truck in white water base house paint with a roller looks fine to me,But it is used for earth moving so I give it a coat every now and again to make it look clean and surprise surprise its as good as any and its easy to clean up after.
$20 apposed to $200 big difference
