Best introduction to climate change science?

There are so many out there, but most don't sound very scientific or are a bit too popular. Can someone point me at the most authoritative and/or most up to date scientific reference documents that sum up the subject?
 
this report by the IPCC is the technical summary which is a really good intro into the science behind climate change. There are plently of graphs, and key facts are highlighted which makes it quite an easy read despite its length.

If you are looking for a much more simple overview, with not much detail then wikipedia has a good over view. However it is not very detailed.

if you have acess to any journals, i recommend looking at articles from the journal climatic change, but this might cost money, depends how interested you are.

You will probably see some crap posted for answers here coming from the United Nations. Remember, these are the folks that push world government by making the USA and other dumped countries believe that everything will be solved by lowing the living standards of the rich countries and propping up the poor ones. Believe me, this whole "global warming caused by man" myth is another Trojan horse perpetuated by the same folk. The solution is always more government and less production. You want real answers ask real scientist.
 
A good, easy to read book on the subject is The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery. It was the first book I ever read about the subject--most libraries have it if you don't want to buy it.

I've heard Dire Predictions by Michael Mann is another good introductory book on the subject, though I've only skimmed it.

If you just want the straight, technical science then I'd recommend the IPCC and realclimate.org.
