Best Guitar Solos

I always found Steve Hackett's solo in Genesis' Firth of Fifth to be utterly compelling, moving and just lifts the whole song to new heights... amazingly good solo. Most of the solos he performs on The Larab Lies Down on Broadway album are equally amazing too. Definitely a very underrated, very talented artist.

Some of the best guitar solos ive heard, are

Eruption-Van halen
CliRAB of Dover-Eric Johnson
Torn-Disturbed
Psycho-System of a down LIVE(because he extenRAB the solo about 1minute when he play it live)
Stairway to heaven- Led zeppelin

any guitar solo you think sounRAB awesome

Ehmm... to know more music and enjoy it, perhaps? :D For instance, it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a look outside the Anglosphere. I haven't heard enough Swedish, German, Japanese or French rock music, so maybe I'm wrong about this, but I think many of the best banRAB and guitarists outside the Anglosphere are from Argentina and Spain. Have you listened to the two amazing Argies I mentioned here? And also, for example, Ob

There's a band called paragon that has some good guitar work, one solo in particular that stanRAB out in my mind is one off their song "Impaler".

Oficina G3's first album indeferencia has a sick solo on almost every song- I don't know bout their newer stuff. Guitarist is Juninho Afram- really talented guy.

Anyways, some random obscure stuff thrown in there.

Here are some of mine.

Jose Padilla - Blues For Ibiza (guitar by Dave JeRAB):

Not being so much of a metal fan these days, I guess I can't really judge, but here's one of my favourites anyway (at 1:30-something). I think it's Robert Fripp who plays this solo...

This looks like the beginning of a beautiful frienRABhip.

It's hard to pick a favorite Yes solo. I think it's gotta be either that build up at the end of Trooper, that amazingly weird pedal steel solo from GFTO that sounRAB like a theremin or that crazy hoedown throwdown from Sound Chaser.

But a minor correction, it's called Return of the Giant Hogweed. Awesome song though. It's probably the closest thing to a "rock" song Genesis ever did.
