Best GI Joe series?

What would you say the best GI Joe series was? I'd say the marvel/sunbow one from 83-87 would be the best. Good character development (theres no place like springfield, lasers in the night, computer complications) and even the hokier eps like the gamesmaster and cobra claws are coming to town had their moments. As for the others, the DiC and Sigma Six ones had potential, but DiC wasted it on simplistic plots and in the case of sigma six, plots that were TOO complicated. GI Joe extreme wasnt very good at all (it reminded me of an image comic, and not one of the good ones either).
 
Yes I agree Marvel / Subow's Joe series was the best.

I did like Dic's Joe series well the first season and the mini-series Operation Dragonfire anyway.

I never saw G.I. Joe: Extreme well not enough to judge it.

I absolutely hate Suckma Six. It just wasn't good at all and I hated its anime style and character designs.
 
I concur! The original G.I. Joe was clearly the best of all the series listed in this thread. I sometimes wonder with the live-action G.I. Joe movie coming out, next year, if there's going to be another series with a similar ensemble voice-over cast, like the original program? Something to think about.
