There were lots of great movies show this year but I must say, the best out of all of 'em is Avatar. The Hangover is pretty great too.

Don't really know if I'd say its the best film of 2009 but my favorite of 2009 would be The Hangover.

Inglorious Basterds. For the longest time it was Reservoir Dogs was my favorite Quentin film but now it's Inglorious Basterds. Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa made the film for me.

There were several films i loved. But i think Half-Blood Prince is my favorite film of the year. I was so worried that I wouldn't like it because it's just the "set-up" for the finale. But it was handled so well

^^ I loved Let the Right One In too ; I only neglected to include it because I thought it actually came out in 2008.

The thing about me already putting together my year-end list is that I haven't seen a lot of the movies I really want to see due to the fact they haven't come out near here. Moon, Big Fan, An Education, A Serious Man... my list could change drastically in the coming weeks. I know Moon and Big Fan come out on DVD in January.

I enjoyed Inglourious Basterds, but I guess I wasn't as in love with it as some people. It has its strong points, but also its flaws.

The Hurt Locker
A Serious Man
Inglourious Basterds
An Education
Precious
Away We Go
Zombieland
Up in the Air

I'm sure there's more, but hell since Oscars have made their Best Picture list up to ten, I should just keep adding more

So far....(500) Days of Summer.

But I haven't watched The Hangover and Up in the Air yet. I anticipate those would be on my fav list this year. :D

such a very cool ending to the film.....

so many good films were made in other parts of the world besides america this year.....some of my favorites in no particular order:

'let the right one in' (norway) imo the best vampire film of the year hands down...but so much more....it's also a children's story and love story....

'sin nombre' (mexico)....great filmmaking.by one of it's newest directors....short and to the point.....a young man tries to quit the gang he belongs to after one his companions kills his girlfriend...

'revanche' (austria)......a tale of revenge.....and in the end secrets........

'departures' (japan)......a recently unemployed young man answers a newspaper ad thinking that he'll be working in a travel agency.....instead he prepares the bodies of the recently deceased for their funeral rites....

'antichrist' (denmark)....by lars von trier......very tough to watch...pornographic in nature...extremely violent....but original in every sense of the word.....even the people that i know that saw the film and called it trash kept on watching it just to see what would happen......it's a movie that's not forgotten.....recommended only for those willing to explore something entirely different in filmmaking....
