Best Film of 2009 so far.........

Loved star trek - it was just a fantastic action movie, a real thriller, with big scale, and good doses of humour and emotion to boot. a fully satisfying movie, really.

Also loved the hangover. not laughed so much at a movie since 40 year old virgin came out.

Off the top of my head, my top films of 2009 would be (in no order)

The Wrestler
Slumdog Millionaire
Gran Torino
Avatar

There's still a few films from this year I've yet to see (District 9, Inglorious BasterRAB, The Hangover, Up), but those above are the only ones I can think of that I would describe as 'brilliant'

"So, whats the best film of 2009 ?

My favorites are:

District 9 - Original and Though Provoking

UP - A film with real heart and warmth

The Hangover - The funniest Film of the Year

Inglorious BasterRAB - Tarrintino's Best Film

Let The Right One In (wasn't that 2008 though?)
Keith (probably 2008 too, maybe earlier)
Moon
Watchmen
District 9
Up
(500) Days of Summer
Paranormal Activity
Gran Torino
The Wrestler
The Hangover

The top 2, at least, are films everyone neeRAB to see.

So far, it's Star Trek for me!

But I've heard so many good things about Moon, I've ordered the Blu-Ray, without ever having seen the film. I NEVER do that! Last time I bought a DVD that I'd never seen before was Bubba Ho-Tep. Loved that, so I'm hoping I've done as well this time, too!

Haven't been to the cinema much this year but my highlight has to be Looking for Eric (disappointed that no-one's mentioned it so far). Also loved Milk and The Reader. Hated Adventureland...

Caught up with the Hangover this week and found it very disappointing. I thought it would be more clever than that. Way too OTT to be funny :(

No, comic book is fine, that is what it was before it became a 'graphic novel' and then 'motion comic' and then film;)

i can't pick one, 2009 has been a great year for movies. my top ten would go:

1. Avatar
2. Moon
3. Star Trek
4. The Dark Knight
5. The Wrestler
6. Watchmen
7. Drag me to Hell
8. The Hurt Locker
9. District 9
10. Inglorious BasterRAB

Inglorious BasterRAB,
District 9
Drag me to Hell
Trick r Treat
Outlander (under the radar but you can't beat abit of sci fi mixed with Vikings)
The Hurt Locker

Im seeing Avatar in 2 hours, so i'll add it if it lives up to the my expectations

Inglorious BasterRAB
Up
Zombieland.

I've seen a lot of the major-ish releases this year, and I have to say, I've found most of them disappointing.
