I cannot recommend highly enough, one of my all-time favourite films

The Phantom of The Paradise, directed by Brian DiPalma.

Perhaps not a musical; in the conventional sense but then the film is so many themes that labelling it anything is selling it short.

Available on DVD at all good stores , normally under a tenner!
