Of course there's oldies, Kelly's Heroes and whatnot but you just can't beat the modern stuff.

I would have to say Band of Brothers...although its technically a mini-series and not a film.

Out of the films I've seen I'd say Platoon.

I have a list of some but I can't remember their titles just yet... But here are some old ones I have on VHS/DVD, recommended by some old war-vets."Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison", "The Incredible Mr. Limpet" and one with Edward G. Robinson, "Mr. Winkle Goes to War ".

I'd add: "The Keep".

There was a documentary not too long ago where they took some modern RAF pilots and put them into a simulator that simulated the Lancaster bombers and the bombing runs, and they all find it increadibly difficult to complete the missions. Just shows you!
