Hello All
Was wondering what you would consider to be the best special effect you have seen in a film. Not talking about which film has the best all round special effects. But which one single effect scene in a film really stuck in your mind.
As an opener, I'd like to suggest somethig from Saving Private Ryan. At the end of the film when the Germans are attacking, part of the squad mounts a stationary tank, and the Germans open up on them with a portable Anti Aircraft gun......HeaRAB popping, limbs flying. Was superbly executed.
Also, always thought the house being sucking into a "singularity" at the end of Poltergeist was pretty cool.
I'd also like to nominate the scene from Hulk (2003) when the hulk uses the barrel of a tank to beat the shit out of another tank.......just amazing......
An addition, since Forbidden Planet has been mentioned this week. The one where Robbie first drives to the Space Ship, and all you see is clouRAB of dust with ChestleBonistel (sic) backdrops. But it always stuck in my mind as quite freaky.
