Best ending to a film?

Being the old fart that I am I like old films.

'Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte' had a great ending. Really quite unexpected. Olivia de Havilland acted her socks off in this movie (even out doing the great Bette Davis) Which in itself is no mean feat!!

'The Usual Suspects' was a great finish and I won't say what it was for those who haven't had the delight of this great film.

My favourite film of all time,'Goodfellas' also has a great ending with Henry Hill describing his new normal everyday life.

I love the end of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' with the demise of the Nazis, together with the quiet storing of the Ark in an anonymous warehouse.

The end of 'Dumb & Dumber' always cracks me up ......... "You'll have to excuse my friend, he's a little slow. The town is that way!"

'Point Break' when Patrick Swayze's character went to ride the huge wave on his surfboard. Dialogue was a bit cheesy but the sound of the water was great!

I like the light-hearted ending to 'True Lies' with Boris & Doris.

Ripley taking on the Alien in 'Alien' before going to sleep for a few years!

Good call on this one! "Top... men". Classic

Also love the ending to The Italian Job (the original), and the end of The Matrix was good too. Shame they had to make two rather bad sequels.

I'd agree withe that, the line about ordering food from the local restaurant is superb.

I too loved the Se7en ending, even if Brad Pitt almost destroyed it with his "oh god" poor performance before

. The alternate ending that features storyboarded on the se7en special edition could have been interesting.

Instead of Brad Pitts Mills character shooting John Doe, Morgan Freeman kills him. When mills asks "what are you doing?" morgan freemans character replies "retiring".

I guess the theatrical ending would be more powerful but would have loved to see the alternate ending actually filmed. I just wish Brad could have acted a little better at the end......
