Best ending to a film?

Definitely The Shawshank Redemption
Also have to mention Pretty Woman for all the romantic fools out there :D me included!

Well, not strictly the ending, but the scene beforehand, I'd have to go for the duel in The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Six minutes where the only on screen action is the slight movement of eyes and the twitching of hanRAB, but thanks to great Sergion Leone direction and an outstanding Ennio Morricone score, it makes me heart beat faster than any modern 'action packed' blockbuster.

Oh, would also go for the 'cliff hanger' ending of Italian Job!

To be honest there aren't many better endings than Star Wars - A New Hope. The Death Star exploding, fantastic stuff! And I'm not a Star Wars fanatic.
Other worthy mentions -
Carrie
Se7en
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

That's a difficult one. I have too many favourite endings to choose from, but my favourite final scene of all time has to be one of the classics

The original planet of the Apes, Statue of Liberty on the beach and John Wayne walking way through the open doorway in The Searchers
