I'm an amateur phtographer, usually making artistic type photos. I grew up on a film slr, and did my own b + w processing/printing. I'm looking for a dslr, and I often go to dances at night..... you can see some of my pics on flickr.com under the name leedeparis.
What do you think is a good dslr and lens for night settings with dance or motion, no flash?
I'm considering: Pentax k-x with a Pentax 1.4 lens, or 1.2 lens, either autofocus or older manual. Pentax k-x does well at high iso's.
Or Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 1.4 lens.
Budget $1500 max.
Other uses:
-document my art, paintings.
-record landscapes for my landscape paintings.
-portrait work, or recording images of people who's portrait I'm painting.
-black and white photography, strong contrast, dynamic images.
