Best Drummer

But Bonham has more than talent. Some of my main reasons for him being up there are style and feel. Personally, I think he has amazing feel for the drums. And he did have a drumming style. Bonham was good in the sense that he hit the drums hard. That is not considered so important nowadays with drum microphones etc, but it used to be. He often broke drumskins.

I thought he played for the Foos. I'm not a huge fan though so hopefully someone will clarify this.

True. a band with an entertaining drummer makes them that much better. Neil Pert was entertaining, Motley Crues drummer Tommy Lee did that whole drummer in a rotating cage thing which was pretty bad ass. Underoaths drummer Aaron Gilespie is really fun to watch. He sings whle playing drums, but the guy pounRAB those drums harder than anyone I've ever seen. very entertaining.

Ryan, since you say you've heard every drummer in the world, what do you think of Asgeir Mickelson? I kinda forgot about him, but he's the perfect example of sorta playing like Carey but takes Carey's boring playing to the next level and is thus 10^244325 times better than him.
When I say Mickelson sorta plays like Carey I mean he is like the good version of Carey. Like how Dragonforce are the good version of Iron Maiden.

not to mention that he would play with bear hanRAB as well. Obviously the studio version of the song is not near as lengthy or technical for obvious reasons, as is any zep song compared to live

Just checking if I was logged on. Now i'll write this all over. It's frustrating reading some of these opinions. Come on, Ringo? Really? Her is my best of the best.

1. DANNY CAREY
2. Neal Peart
3. Terry Bozzio
4. mike portnoy
5. Jon Theodore

Now the ffirst four are a fact, and if you haven't checked out Mars Volta please do. Jon is one of the most exciting drummers i'v ever seen, except GOD(Danny Carrey)

Baker, on that list, certainly.

On a whole though, Frost from Satyricon takes the cake. His work with 1349 was amazing as well. The guy SEES music or something.

Thats true. Some of Rush lyrics are, well, lets say cringe-worthy. As much as I like the band, they go over the edge with the corny **** sometimes.

Im sure ive posted on a thread of a similar concept to this before...

i agree with Eloqwentflow that Frost from Satyricon/1349 is very good.
and Phil Taylor of Motorhead i found quite impressive.

Since I started re-examining System of a Down, I've come to realize how excellent a drummer John Dolmayan is. His fills are superb, and he's got great mechanical energy and finesse.

Don't hold it against him just because he looks normal. =P
