Best Drummer

well i dont have five but i think buddy rich and theres a small band called screaming mechanical brain but the drummer is amazing!! i get to see them this friday!! :D

I'm a drummer too, but I honestly don't have a clue on how triggers work. But why would a drummer use loops, wouldn't that just put way too much percussion into the music?

yeah i bet those 14 year olRAB play moby dck real well too. Maybe you did not know this, but every time bonzo played that solo live it was never the same as the last time he did it, thats why it is called a solo. Im sure those 14 year olRAB all had a set like his to with the double bass and the timpanis and all. Give me a break

I always here rumours about Danny Carey using triggers and loops but I'm pretty sure they aren't true. I've seen them live a few times and it does not look like he's using triggers and loops at all. *waits for a carey-hater to argue*

oh yeah and i iz picking keith moon from this paltry selection of dad rock staples

No he wouldnt, he would pull it off better than Rudess would, i garantee it.

Emerson has proven that he could do it firsthand...And i was serious about Yes, their musicians are always top of the line.

And being educated in theory dosent automaticly make you a good musician or a very skilled one at that.

Some of the best musicians around cant even read sheet music...Music is a universial thing, its not limited to just a bunch of notes on a sheet of paper.

I'm ashamed to be a Pantera fan alongside you. The White Stripes make good music. Proper music, no matter where it sits on the technical scale.

You're arguing just for argument sake.

HELL YEA. HES SO GOOD. So fast. Faster than all the other drummers. His timing is purrrrfect. His band is fantastic and the drumming world really respects him and hails him as our generations top drummer.

I read through your 44 posts, and you seriously have nothing intelligent or worthwhile to say. Please leave the forum. Your best post being "."

Yes I do get your point. Cobham is one of the best JAZZ drummers around, and definitly the best i've ever seen(saw in Chicago an New Orleans) But Ive also seen Carey in jazz clubs and he blew my mind, and think he can go toe to toe with any jazz drummer and thats not even his specialty. The drummers I mentioned don't just dabble,it's not a lick here a lick there, they mastered it. Maybe to your simple metal drummers like Lars or someone, jazz is more complex and pricise, but compared to Carey, Peart, or Bozzio's work, there is no chance. Trust me, I have tried. It just does not stop at jazz, there is more to being the best overall drummer.
