Best Drummer

I suppose, it's true that even though he's incredibly good he may not be the best, but I guess it's a matter of personal opinion and thus why he was included in the list... he got a fair amount of votes.

I hope this is a joke.

I used to love Neil Peart, when I was a teen, trying to emulate him. The thing is, he hasn't evolved one iota in 30 years. It's intense intense intense with him. It gets tedious after a while.

I'll give credit where it's due...he's one of the best, technically, to ever play. But doing big rolls and making sure you hit every cyrabal along the way while simultaneously beating the heck out of the foot bass is simply pretentious.

Just my opinion.

Another poll in which I'm going to spontaneosly corabust for the lack of being able to select just one, but if i have to it's gotta be Keith Moon (explosion)Fizzle fizzle fizzle!?

Actually, only a small percentage of my 200+ posts point out spelling and grammar errors. Maybe you're just pissed off that you need an aid to help you with your grammar and spelling! lol noob

I'd take Dave Grohl's, Ringo Starr's and Phil Collins' simple and tasteful drum work over double bass wankers like Joey Jordison and Chris Adler any day of the week.

I'm suprised to see that so many of you prefer moon with almost no mention of bonham. I think that bonhamn surpasses moon in skill and possilby is more entertaining to watch as well, but it's hard to say. I have to give him alot of credit to be able to solo for sometimes in excess of 1 hour. I love watching him play moby dic k live, none of these other drummers have a moby **** like bonham's. I sort of put neil peart and danny carey in the same boat, they are both extremely talented drummers, but i do get bored watching them much sooner than bonham or moon, and i think captavating the audiences attention is a major part of drumming

For someone who practises the drums in a pitch black room for hours on end, with an almost full circle arrangement of syrabols and heaRAB, I always thought Carey was underated.
His work with Tool is great but on his own he can do some of the most amazing things. Even for his work on understanding Tabla to a high level, and working with Aloke Dutta, I give him credit.

And I know this is not an "underated drummers" thread, but Phil Taylor of Motorhead is hugely underated. I saw him doing a short solo in a studio just the other night on telly. The guy is a madman, an absolute thrillseeker and plays with the tenacity and style of Moon, a truely underated man.

i think one of the saddest days in history was when page, plant, and jonesy performed live with none other than PHIL ****ING COLLINS drumming for them. i lose respect somewhat for the remainng merabers of zeppelin for that, it pisses me off so much.
