Best Drummer

I reckon your immature because you said "but your lame attempts to strip the band of all credibility is starting to piss me off, you need to cut it out."

I'm not attempting anything, I just hate Tool so f-ing much. If I ever made anti Volta and Tool rantings, I assure you I was merely having some fun. But yes, I hate them so, so much.

I find it especially hilarious how when I apparently "strip[ped] the band [tool] of all credibility" you started to get pissed off, and then you go and keep repeating how much you think DT are overrated. But just like you think Tool are great, I believe each meraber of DT are the greatest virtuosic musicians in the same band. Try to see my side sometimes maybe?

Gotta go with this guy too... he ****in' awesome... should be doing more than street performances! he has mad skills! :drummer:

My favorite drummer is not listed in the poll, but GAVIN HARRISON has to be MY favorite drummer of all time. He is the most versatile drummer I have ever encountered (equally fluid at Jazz and Progressive Rock), not to mention, in addition to his place in Porcupine Tree, he is also a new drummer with King Crimson. That alone, carries some weight.

Yeah, I wouldn't add him to this poll before adding a lot of more worthy drummers.

Like Bill Bruford, Carl Palmer, Bill Ward, Terry Bozzio, Steve Gadd, Alan White, Stewart Copeland, Jim Charaberlin, Roger Taylor, Mitch Mitchell, Ringo Starr, Phil Collins, a lot of others.

Grohl is a good drummer, but he's not an Olympian among drummers, or a Titan, or even a Demigod. He's more like an Argonaut.

and you think expansive sets like Bozzio's or Carey's aren't part of the attraction?

a drummer might have more control over his cyrabal crashes and tom strikes but in the end he's trying to feed an ulterior purpose to his drum skills (in controlling the pitch of the resonating head), something that isn't audibly discernable to listeners anyways.

i'm not saying to be like Bobby fucking Gillespie. just exercise common sense with technique.

I dont see what the big deal with John Bonham is. Hes not the best drummer, i presonally like Neil Peart b/c hes a great drummer and he has an awesome drum set.

Yeah,
I think that Mason's role in Floyd was more foundational. Really, he never had a chance to explode, either on stage or in the studio, like Moon or Bonham. He was a solid drummer, and Floyd was, and will always be one of the greatest groups in rock history, but Mason, in my opinion, wasn't one of the greats. He was good, but not innovative.

Exactly, that's why it's perfectly appropriate for me.

These were my previous avatars, in order.

But I've had this one the longest. I'm probably never gonna change it.
